What does it mean to be an Asian Woman trailblazer?
Last month I attended the 1st Annual Women Who Boss Up Conference. It felt surreal standing in a luxurious suite on the top floor of the Red Rock Casino that was 3 times the size of most apartments I have lived in. It consisted of panoramic views of Las Vegas, stunning furniture, marble floors, and, most importantly, a bathroom with a heated toilet seat. I was in awe of the space and thoughtful details inside. I scanned the room at the faces of all the incredible women I had the honor of meeting' entrepreneurs, badasses, mothers, and women who boss up. Then the moment hit me like a train; "The 2022 Asian Woman Trailblazer award goes to Leslie Lew." Suddenly the roar of 10,000 lionesses erupted from my chest; I shook the earth with my voice and let the feeling seep into my veins.
Several awards were given out that night, but this one held a special place for me. It was especially meaningful because that is the title of the upcoming book that I co-authored alongside 15 other incredible Asian women who share their stories of finding success and never looking back. Winning this award also meant YOU, as my community said, I see your heart Leslie; I believe in your mission to save the lives of Asian women and allies; keep going.
Entrepreneurship is not all sunshine, coffee, and designing your schedule. It can be lonely, isolating, and put your soul through a meat grinder. There is no manual or playbook. You must find a way through to the other side when you hit a wall, or your journey ends because no one will care about your business and nurture it the way you will. It requires grit, sweat, and tears.
Being an ASIAN WOMAN TRAILBLAZER is about elevating towards your higher self and extending your arm to other women so that they are supported in a way that propels their success. We can all thrive together.
It also means:
- Setting your intentions
-Forging your path
- Permitting yourself to JUST GO
- Raising your frequency so your allies can find you
